Hi friends, I was able to successfully install fnirsi_1013d.bin v0.026c on my oscilloscope and activate the RTC Module, but somehow I could not succeed in OFFSET Calibration, although I have https://www.motorobit.com/3-kanal-pwm-sinyal-jeneratoru-devresi-xy-lpwm3 this DDS Module was successful, otherwise where could it be? I also found the DDS Module option. Does this work for Offset Calibration? Aliexpres sales link https://tr.aliexpress.com/i/32720369872.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2tur#nav-review

You can add pictures, You need to click reply rather than quick reply and under the message box is a link called "Attachments and other options" that allows you to add pictures.

OK, just received my FNIRSI 1013D 'Upgraded' model with the extra high voltage probe.

My primary interest is for the repair of a couple of tube-type tabletop AM and AM-SW receivers,
and Amateur Radio related gear (solid state and tube).

Since I'm mostly new to scopes - can anyone recommend a list of exercises I can run that will
help to familiarize me with the relevant features, please?

Thanks ... this expect that this will be a small adventure.

Upgraded?  Does that mean these things will actually work out to 100MHz now?

Nope, just means it includes a 100X probe along with the two standard 1/10x probes. It's the Ebay/Amazon version of "upgraded".

As one of the newest folks to go through the process, I can answer that Atlan's currently recommended firmware is v0.026b and he placed a link to it in the signature of his posts after I had trouble finding it a couple weeks ago.

Hello, Atlan! Tell me, is it possible to make additional improvements to the program? Very often there is a situation when you choose a normal or single mode of operation, and when the trigger is triggered, the signal is divided in half, half before the trigger is triggered, and half is a useful signal that we wanted to capture. Is it possible to make a modification in which the trigger will be triggered on the left edge of the signal, and then the useful signal will be twice as long, and the empty left edge will be minimal? Thanks!

Without modifying the firmware in the FPGA, it won't work. But you can change the sampling frequency in the menu and thus get a longer waveform. Shown in the video on youtube on the i2c bus.

The code for the fpga written by the PC programmer does not work correctly, especially the trigger. Moreover, it is only for the AL3 chip, and oscilloscopes with EF2 probably have the content blocked from reading.

FNIRSI 1013D Always provide a picture or video with the problem where the parameters of the oscilloscope are visible, and a picture of the diagnostic screen with the values.

The code for the fpga written by the PC programmer does not work correctly, especially the trigger. Moreover, it is only for the AL3 chip, and oscilloscopes with EF2 probably have the content blocked from reading.

To set things in the right light, I did not write anything for the FPGA, I tried to reverse engineer it, which was partially successful, and revealed that it is a crappy design from the get go.

The same design will be used on the older and newer scopes, but without access to the three types it is not possible to guarantee that things will work as intended. The older ones with an Altera Cyclone IV chip use an external FLASH and can be updated with the use of a JTAG cable (bitblaster), but it is something not every user of the scope will be able to do. The same goes for the Anlogic AL3 based ones.

The Anlogic EF2 based ones make use of the internal FLASH and one would need a JTAG cable to reprogram it. Not sure if there is a JTAG header in the scope for this. For this one it is again something not every user of the scope will be able to do.

This is basically why I decided to not pursue looking into it any further.

bin for FPGA AL3 is located here https://www.eevblog.com/forum/fpga/reverse-engineering-anlogic-al3_10-fpga/msg5827923/#msg5827923
mal by fungovat.

Is there a risk of overwriting the touch panel data if this data is changed in the FPGA and the original fnrisi firmware is run?
I want to use these registers to change the output frequency to 1Khz.

                case(mcu_state)
                  4'h0:
                    touch_panel_address[15:8] <= io_mcu_data;
                  4'h1:
                    touch_panel_address[7:0] <= io_mcu_data;

Or can I write whatever I want but send back to the MCU the exact value it expects?

                case(mcu_state)
                  4'h0:
                    o_mcu_data <= touch_panel_address[15:8];
                  4'h1:
                    o_mcu_data <= touch_panel_address[7:0];

Best to always return the expected value to keep it working as intended. I named it touch_panel_address, because that is what the original firmware is using the read value for.

So modify the read back to be a fixed value and use a different register to write your settings to.

Another option is to just add another command to the list and use that for your new settings. That way there is no problem with the original firmware.

I would need help from someone. To measure how the AD converter pins are connected to the FPGA EF2 and to the uP (new versions with a full glass panel) on the PCB there is no longer a 25q80 flash memory. Just draw it in the original schematic and rewrite it. Thank you

Whether you know about it or not, there is a problem with the waveform output on the screen with a multiplier of x100 and 5V/div. The digital voltage calculation is correct, but the graphical display is underestimated.

The same problem with the x20 multiplier and 1V/div
The same problem with the x10 multiplier and 500mV/div, аnd so on

Any change from the automatically detected DC offset will result in a waveform display error. Try it. I'll look into it later.

Hello there!
Does it make any sense to replace MicroSD card inside the scope with a better one?
For better performance, responsiveness, etc.?

Not really. On startup the code is loaded into the DRAM in the MCU, so the only benefit of a faster card could be speeding up the load time, but the hardware is not capable of running super high speed. The card clock tops of on just below 50MHz, and with the stock card mine came with this is the case.

The startup time is also limited by the configuration time of the FPGA, and with the new open source firmware this is already the limiting factor.

Thank you, I suspected that was the case, but wasn't sure :)
And for a handy little scope it boots pretty fast.
