Hi, I have it installed MSO5102, MSO5000 BND update part..
I didn't get an error message, the options update was just not correct and the options menu update information was completely empty..
I made a new "rigol_kg2_3_000.py" priv.pem file with a different EC PRIVATE KEY and with that I got the complete activation done.

Hello, at the time I updated a 5104 to version 01_03_03_00 and then I applied the Hack MSO5000.update.GEL and I have all the options unlocked and it works very well
I'm thinking of getting an MSO5074 and upgrading the bandwidth to 350 MHz.
The scope will come with the application bundle (MSO5000-BND) as standard. Is there a way to back it up so that I don't lose these options if the hack doesn't work out for some reason (assuming I don't brick the scope in the process)?
Or am I overthinking it?

The thing is that every Rigol distributor around here is currently including the bundle as standard, free of charge. It seems that getting the scope without the bundle would actually be more hassle than having it pre-installed.

so if you're getting it TRULY for free, and they're not just inflating the price and telling you crap, then just get it, No problem.

Recently upgraded my 5000 successfully using the rigol_kg2.py method.
I used a M2 Pro Mac mini to do the upgrade which is about as far away from a Windows x86 machine as you could get.
Roughly following the script, did the backups, scope already running the required version, just kept running Python rigol_kg2.py –i x.x.x.x and installing modules until no errors (python version is 3.11.7). Tried to get a bit clever with the network connection which didn't work but when I put the scope and computer on the same router all worked. Followed the steps to the end and all good.
I bought the 5000 with the logic analyser so some options were already on, didn't worry about them as they would get turned on in th upgrade.
Used the -s option with rigol_kg2.py to run ssh daemon, tried using the web interface user and pass but couldn't login.
What is the user and pass for ssh?
As I couldn't login I couldn't poke around to see if the sshd could be started at boot time. Is that possible?
During the upgrade I was getting message on the DSO screen, something about "9 retries, 8 remaining" which was a bit of a worry but obviously could be ignored as it worked in the end.
I can assure those nervous of the rigol_kg2.py approach it's quite robust as it tolerated my stuffing around.
A big thanks to all who have worked on the upgrades, won't use names as there too many and bound to leave someone out.

Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my MSO5072 using the Dr. Mefisto licensing method. I've gotten to step 16 but I've run into an Assertion Error between reading CFRAM and applying new CFRAM. We've used both rigol_kg2.py and rigol_kg2_3_000.py and both have given the same error.
Is this a problem specific to the 5072? And is there a way around it?
