Mechanical & Automation Engineering / Re: low temperature coolants?
« Last post by jpanhalt on Today at 09:14:05 am »
I am having viscosity problems with coolants. I tried IPA, a computer cooling fluid (coolance), and a mixture of 70:30 propylene glycol and water.

They all get rather viscous and do a number on my tubing.

What fluid can be used that stays the most liquid at low temperatures? I thought maybe methanol.

Water can be used at freezing temperatures.  I have also seen liquid helium used for somewhat lower temperatures.

I have nothing against the OP or his products, but he absolutely overreacted and that started the downward spiral more than anything else.
I think we observed a perfect example of what's called synergistic effect.

Or a well-matched resonant circuit, if you wish.

I make no claims to originality, for a fixed and upgradable source it's simple and handy.
It doesn't appear much in current source examples on the interwotzit

A MOSFET could be used but it will reduce the avaiable voltage compliance.
A bit more compliance can be squeezed out using a Sziklai pair instead of a Darlington.
Some of stability components don't go amiss.

I implemented the PLL and improved things. Now the sprites are almost perfect, there are only some little glitches (like sparkling pixels).Which are the parameters in PLL I can play with?Thaks again for the help.

Test Equipment / Re: Hacking the Rigol DHO800/900 Scope
« Last post by shapirus on Today at 09:04:54 am »
Hello all.  I tried the 100mhz/memory depth hack on firmware 1.02 and it initially failed with Key.data not found errors.
I edited the 2 batch files to RKey.data and it finds the files now but it says the key file format is wrong.

How do I get this hack to work on 1.02 firmware? Thanks!

The display output is hexadecimal with a colon. Looks like the programmer's software took the .eep file literally. Please reprogram the EEPROM and select Intel Hex format for the .eep file.

Some Wima MKP capacitors, back in the 1990s, when I was young, they were the most famous audiophile capacitors in China.

Here's some company history:

What's the problem with WiFi in the Siglent, exactly? It can operate as a USB host, right? Then, since it's Linux-based, it should be possible to build a kernel module for any particular WiFi chipset. What then? Lack of userspace software?

Or let's put it this way: has anyone ever attempted modding or at least looking into the scope's operating system?
WiFi is only currently supported in the 4ch X-E models using the TP Link TL-WN725N USB dongle which with a good WiFi access point provides many meters of connectivity plus NTP time and negates the need for a wired LAN connection.

The TL-WN725N dongle was supported with its specific driver within the X-E OS on day one release.
The 2ch SDS2000X-E range has this WiFi support also.

However the newer SDS800X HD models use a totally different OS that's based on the more upmarket models so incorporating into the new OS will be somewhat more of a challenge....which is why we have pleaded with Siglent to enable it.

Yes, I bought the station with multiple new tips from an official distributor and I tried all of them.
