Won't this be stepping right over the SDS1000X HD?
First look differences are just screen size, 50 Ohm and probe attenuation detection.
Memory, sampling rate and bandwith stay the same, ¿right?

I think it was mentioned that the SDS1000X HD series would have updated specs compared to the eastern market.

Yes, but the old SDS1000X HD had only 1GS/s sampling rate, and a few other things were upgraded too. The current "headline" basic specs are the same for the 800 and the 1000 series.
Edit: There might be quite a few more differences of course, like number of math channels, digital filters, FFT sample size, etc. Still, if the price is reasonable this is going to compete quite nicely against the new Rigol scopes.
The empire strikes back...
"SDS
800"?
They must be feeling the burn.

Maybe too little, too late.
Rigol is eating their lunch right now.

They are a few months late to the market, and the name is... interesting.
But I am actually relieved to see a more or less direct competitor in the entry level, as competition is what got us hobbyists all these great entry level 'scopes in the first place.

Sure, it's an interesting development.
SDS1000X-E on steroids is how I see 800X HD and now with lower prices for X-E, just where 800X HD will fit between 10" display 1000X HD and lower cost X-E will be interesting.
More choices is always good except for when we need invest in stocking them.
The next milestone after the successful SDS1000X-E series, for all the ones on a budget who are serious about electronics T&M.
the 1104x-e is only 2-channel math right?

Rigol is embarrassing themselves with their debacle of release.
Wait until in 6 months "your precious" scope is is till in the same state of unfinished...
And enter this scope that is more powerful than DHO4000 if 200 MHz BW is enough for you...
And history repeats ......
Rigol is embarrassing themselves with their debacle of release.

I only know 4 bugs in my DHO804 and all are in the "just an annoyance" category. None of them prevent me from working.
Why do we always have to get into these heated, aggressive discussions so quickly?
This new 'scope is just asking to be flamed - they copied the model number, they seem to be dumping the 1000 series, they're going to miss Xmas... it must be desperate times at Siglent HQ.

It's you who likes to flame, personally if I have to choose between Rigol and Siglent I prefer the latter. The sample rate is higher in the SDS800X and lets see how is the accuracy and others.

I might argue that Siglent is embarrassing themselves with the debacle of a non-release of the SDS1000X HD.
And that, six months from now, the SDS800X HD might well still be in the same state of unreleased.
But I won't.
How is not releasing unfinished product embarrassing?
As for stirring discussions why don't you ask your buddy Fungus why is that so..
He has no intention to buy anything Siglent. When I sad he comes to Siglent topics only to troll I was called out as wrong..
What was aggressive in my tone, pray tell?
Fact that that DHO1000 you are about to receive has bugs in basic triggering after a more than a year..??
And bunch of other unfinished stuff..
In a ANOTHER year we'll see how much stuff they will fix..
I wish you luck.
I get this apologetic " there are no real bugs" while in bug topic list keeps on getting longer, and reported by same people that say there aren't any..
"These are not the droids you're looking for..."

You are the only one who is desperate. Why, I have no idea..

* The word "debacle".
* The Gollum reference ("your precious")
* The word "unfinished".
* The dig at other Rigol models.
* The line about "history repeats"
PS: If you want "unfinished", look up the thread where Siglent was posting little bags of capacitors to their customers.
THAT is "unfinished", not a post-launch firmware update.
ALL oscilloscopes have bugs and you know it. There's a bug thread on EEVBLOG for every model that gets released.
The only thing I mentioned is that Siglent probably didn't have to copy Rigol's model numbering system, but they did. You've got to admit that's funny.
One can argue which behavior hurts customers more -- releasing a product with bugs, or not releasing it at all and delaying/confusing their purchasing decisions. Ultimately a matter of taste on the customers' side.
Yep, announcing "We also have a HD model! Wait for us!!" after Rigol releases their DHO1000 isn't helping anybody.
PS: This new model isn't in the shops either. How long should we wait for this one?
Indicative release Q1 2024
More info to be released as it becomes available.
No indicative price yet?
I'm betting it's expensive - they don't have an ASIC.
MSO capable models to 200 MHz.
Rigol goes to 250.
120k WFPS
Rigol goes to a million even on their entry-level model.
2 GSa/s
Up to 100 Mpts mem depth
OK
ENOB *1 (typical) 8.4-bit
Not impressed.
PS: What's in note *1?

Aggression :"Feelings of anger or antipathy resulting in hostile or violent behaviour; readiness to attack or confront."
Coming to topic that has NO relation to you asking for confrontation is definition of you.
My statements are true. Your behaviour towards your Rigol scope is beyond simple owner bias. 4 scopes were released unfinished. That is debacle for a serious company like Rigol. They have a track record of releasing half made products.
I went to Siglent EU page. I don't see any announcements of SDS800X HD or SDS1000X HD.
Fact that people get excited by what gets posted on Chinese page for domestic release is not official statement of Siglent.
As for 800 series, Siglent has 800 series for years. And they wanted to make distinction to new 1000X HD series.
As for lineup naming, it is actually quite consistent in 12 bit line...

2. only in specific setting in useless UltraAcquire mode.
3. Respect.
4. Better than "more than 8"..
4. Better than "more than 8"..
Only if you know their definition of "typical" and what the caveat in note 1 is.

Does it acquire or doesn't it?
Announcing a product more than 9 months before releasing it is the embarrassing part, in my view.
I think you're confusing something here. There has never been any official announcement of an SDS1000X HD.
Tautech always likes to keep us informed and once started a thread about a newly released scope in China, without any international release date proposal. That's all.
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/siglent-sds1000x-hd-coming/Of course there have been plans to release this scope in the rest of the world some day, but Siglent never communicated a release date. And anybody following the thread linked above would have noticed that there was some major redesign going on. The instrument that might get released in the first quarter of 2024 is not the same anymore which got released 6 months ago in China. The difference is not just firmware.
