Our company was closing down one of the labs. I scored for free an HP 3478B meter, Tek 2330, Lecroy 9304 4 ch scope, couple of power supplies, Tek TM506 full with PS, counter, couple of DMMs and FG, and 4 shopping bags full of parts and hardware.
The price was certainly right
PaulGreat Score looks like you hit the Lotto.
Well, it remains to be seen if it will turn out to be a 'score' or a pig-in-a-poke, but I snagged a non working HP 8673C signal generator from a local evilbay seller for $103. I figured it was worth a shot for that price, and local pickup saved $100 in shipping - the bloody thing weighs about 65 lbs (~30kg). It powers up, but then does a waltzing decimal point thing on the frequency display. I haven't gotten to poke at it and try anything so far, but from what the manual says there is a board that might be configured incorrectly, so I'll start with that.
Unfortunately, it is a special option version (H12) that apparently deletes the lowest band and modulation & sweep capabilities that most had, but the first order of business will be to try to get it working. I can burn the other bridges as I get to them.

-PatBest of luck getting it in working order.

Nope, I've bid on some but didn't get 'm. Should still work for 'generic' Parts like PSU, display, procent board etc. And can't these things be uphacked?
Oh, good, I thought I was gonna run out!
Motorola Service monitor (needs a lot of work)
Well it seems that I extended my range of TM500-modules into the waveform displays
Motorola Service monitor (needs a lot of work)Wow, this thing is old and crusty, but not as beaten up as my R2600B (http://wunderkis.de/r2600/index.html). This one was one of the starters of my TEA
The new caps arrived an hour ago from Digikey and they're in. I replaced all of the electrolytics in the power supplies. The 3456A is now passing all tests. Now to cobble up some way of verifying it's accuracy! It never ends, does it?
