I love all those buttons !
If you don't mind, where'd it all come from?

Wow, lots of neat stuff.

i.e., alias for TEA. Rather appropriate that you have it in your username.
Now that is quite the haul! Hope the auction didn't end up costing you too much

Lol. That was chosen in tempore non suspecto

Not saying I don't end up with the occasional lemon, but all in all I end up on top. And have some fun too!
Crud. Buyer backed out of the UPL deal. Back on the market!
An American optical inspection station with a light table used by IBM. has both internal and external mirrors too to direct light on top of and underneath the item being magnified.
missing the light source, but, I don't see that as being a big deal as I can rig up something pretty easy with some white led's. It came with 10x eyepieces and has a zoom range of x0.7-4.2 so the resulting range is 7x-42x in (( STEREO ))
I picked it up at a local surplus shop. A little dusty, but the optics look clear. a few lights scratches on the light table surface. outdated for IBM I assume, but good enough for me!
the tape around the eyepieces was to just keep them from getting separated from the microscope while moving it around. I haven't cleaned it up yet, this is just how I got it.
I've tried to search the internet to see if i could find something like it, and though i easily found the optics on the internet, I haven't found the table anyplace. I wonder if it was some custom setup just for IBM. anyway, always wanted a stereo inspection station..
You'll love it. Makes you look like a solder genious
Think i'll leave the ibm sticker on it
I'm guessing you've seen most of the gear I got in action already, so I won't bother you with it but this Marconi gear is pretty neat. I proudly present the Marconi 2383 4.2GHz SA!
Notable facts:
- Proudly made in the UK.
- Old. Anyone any clue?
- Calibrated untill 2017 (I kid you not). With a waiver because it missed the targt by 0.04dB
- Tracking gen(shown active in the pictureover the full span. Kinda wonder where the dip comes from. Seems to shift frequencies too
)
- Heavy. Like a boat anchor. For the Titanic.
- None of this funny "menu" stuff. Everything has dedicated keys. Except for a few "shift" functions. But I imagine that once you get the hang of this thing you'd be twice as fast as on one of those newfangled menu pieces of gear.
- 100Hz (!) to 4.2GHz
- RBW 3Hz
EDIT: forum rotates the images. Don't know why.
Gotta love those dedicated knobs and buttons for pretty much every function.
That is some beautiful bit of Macroni. Well done Ice-Tea.

Probably in need of a normalize or an old normalize active?
Ah! Probably. Thanks for the pointer.
Very cool SA, Ice-Tea! Quite the boat anchor(s) like the HP 8566/8568.
As for its age, perhaps the quickest answer is inside on some of the components unless there's a pull-out module that might give a hint.

You're just trying to trick me into taking it apart!
LOL. I'm sure if you wanted to take it apart, the photos would be up already.

Oh, we KNOW you want to take it apart. We're just being our usual oh-so-helpful selves by providing you with further justification for doing so. Cuz, you know, we're good like that...

Well the guts of a HP 8566B are pretty impressive looking so one would expect some neat stuff to see in this one too.
The most difficult part in taking the off lid of a HP 8566 is lifting it on the bench, actually getting the lid off is just a single screw to slide it right off.
$35 USD on Ebay. Works perfect.
Been looking into that IFR 6201B a bit more.8G SNA, power meter
Just acquired this from a friend in non working condition.
The +5V supply was repaired and in the process I managed to break the +40V supply.
It's just the universe seeking balance...
Fixed. and all appears to be working.
Just a basic HP-8901A modulation analyzer.
Nice. They're still in demand, I see them on want lists all the time.
