Awesome, lots of fun to be had there!
I have the feeling that I know who will do the dishes for the next few months
The benefit is: Since you will be busy with the new scope, there will not be too many dishes.
I scored this IFR 1200 Super S service monitor a week ago.

That is a nice one, Buddy. Hope you can get the ol' 1200 back to health, too. Looking forward to the restoration vid.

Agilent changed to the new front panel design in 2007 so it might be a little bit older then 2008.
At least it's still one of the versions with the newer VFD drivers.
Mine looks just like yours, usagi.
pair of skookum choochers! at least skookum for a hobbyist.
2 sorensen dcs33-33em47 power supplies. with shipping, ended up $66/ea. seller has a pile of them. lowballed an offer and he accepted. i think he wants them gone.
supplies were obviously well used, and one had bent rack ears. but they still chooch.
specs say output is fixed at 28.5vdc but this does not appear to be the case, i can go all the way down to 0.02V.

Yes it is a great unit and I always wanted one of these models.
The old unit is going to be a interesting and expensive repair. But it is worth it. Thanks
A very nice score, indeed! Does he have any other
overpriced test equipment he'd like to sell?

The guy actually had two of these meters, however he was keeeping the other one. He did have some very nice HI-FI tube audio amplifers. I paid about $300 for the other 34401's I have, and the others are old in comparison.
Yeah, its youth is apparent from the front panel. Congrats on the deal.

Picked up an HP 5316B with option input C which allows up to 1 GHz. Works great and is in magnificent condition.
I was able to get a Tektronix T921 for free from a friend. It's an oldie but seems to still work properly and was able to learn from it.
I picked up two of these linear power supplies that are 35v @ 20A. They are incredibly heavy. I verified operation up to 20V @ 20A for each. These will be used for powering DIY amplifier projects. These are still in production and list for USD $2K each. The seller packaged them extremely well. I was shocked.

I think everyone should learn on an analogue scope...
That's a cute little scope too, and yes I always recommend people learn to use an analog scope first, once you are proficient with that then many aspects of a DSO will make more sense and you will have a better understanding overall.
Tektronix A6902A Probe Isolator, the whole probe system that is physically bigger and heavier than the scope it self.
