Hello everyone! My name is Wendy, and I've worked at Harwin for 23 and a half years - the first nine in our Design Team. I have a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, and a crazy-good memory for all the designs and projects that have passed through my hands here at Harwin. I designed or worked on a fair number of our standard products, and still keep an eye on Design
.
These days, I'm the main Technical Support contact - you have a question on Harwin connectors and hardware, I'm the one you'll be talking to in Europe. I'm also responsible for all the technical stuff on our website. Any questions, let me know, I'm always happy to help!

Hey everyone! I'm a library specialist for a small college, a cosplayer, and DIYer. I love building and crafting anything that catches my fancy and have a particulate interest in electronics and robotics. I've been slowing working through a tech level industrial electronics program at the college I work for. While learning more advanced bits through Skillshare and Youtubers like Dave and BigClive. I Hope to learn alot form yall

Hi guys!
I've been away from the forum for years, had other obligations, I've been away so long I thing I better re-introduce myself.
Now, I'm sliding into retirement so I will have more time for electronics fun.
My background is an MSc in mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, power-plant, turbines... I worked for decades with various measurement techniques, analogue, digital, I gradually done more an more electronics, still focused on analog measurement techniques.
Once upon a time I pioneered DIY audio amplifiers using IC's from Tripath.
On the forum I did quite a lot of basic work on characterizing the LTZ1000 ultra-stable voltage reference. I might summarize these in a readable way now....
Nice to be back.

Hello, My name is Justin Pince and I am from Minnesota. I am currently working towards my BS in Information Systems Management online through the UMN. I work for a home automation company called RTI in their Tech Support department.
I have come across this forum a lot while doing research. I have been interested in electronics and whatnot for a while, but I have just taken stuff apart to see what is inside and how it works. I have recently started to explore very very basic electrical engineering and components and I am enjoying soaking up all of the information. I think it is very cool how people can take items like MOSFETS, capacitors, and etc and create something out of them. I hope to turn this into a hobby eventually and set up a work station where I can have projects that I am working on to create something myself. I mainly got into this because I plan on creating an electric drift kart and after doing a lot of research it opened my eyes to all the cool things you can do. It seems very complex to me right now, and I think it would be cool to take a few classes, buy some kits, and try some very basic projects this next year. If anyone has any beginner level kits of how-tos that they would like to suggest that I try, I would appreciate a PM with your suggestion. I hope to use this forum to better my knowledge and eventually help others just starting out like me.

Hi, I am Gerhard from the Netherlands. I am a Power Electronics Engineer for a living. I am also a licensed HAM and like building radios and test equipment. Currently I am considering a symmetrical antenna tuner controlled by e.g. an Arduino. There are also some tube radios waiting for restoration.
I hope I can learn from and contribute to this forum.

Aloha and Greetings from Orlando, FL, USA.
I'm mostly retired, but I find I'm tired of not designing stuff. I used to service recording studios and sound companies in Honolulu.
I've designed and built mostly mods for audio gear, some digital stuff, some combined custom controllers. I started as a guitar player then went to tech school, then college. I started programming in 1980 with Basic. Grew into Pascal (while still in DOS), moved to C++ with Windows 3.1 but didn't get far. Got into C with embedded micros in the late 90s. Now I'm back to C++ trying to learn how to write device drivers in Win-10.
I'm now saving up for a decent scope. Saw the video about the Rigol DS1054 on EEVblog YouTube, so that's become my latest ambition. --Thanks Dave--
So, good to be here, glad I found you guys, cheers.
I recently unearthed my old scope from storage and it has a bright dot mid-screen--not helpful. Also got my old Win-XP computer out at the same time. I confirmed a couple of VGA LCD monitors I acquired are working, but the computer produces a long continuous beep instead of booting, so more troubleshooting ahead.
I still play guitar and record. Also do some video editing. Anything to keep from watching too much YouTube. I'm hoping I can video some of my projects once I get some gear together. I had several going in 2012, but had some health issues. Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing.

Hello Everyone,
I have been working with electronics since I was a kid Then took electronics in 7th grade and then high school after that I went got degree in it .
Then in the late 80s I bought a Radio and Tv repair business that had been started in the 1940s and well I ran that shop till early 2000's
I Collect Antique radios and Tv's Also old computer's and Audio gear ,So now I specialize in restoring Antique home and car audio for customers .
But my main job is I work at Public school Where help teach 7 classes a day, classes range from Computer science and to STEM,robotics, to begining woodshop .
My other passion is woodworking I enjoy building and restoring antique furniture ,I live in a small farming and ranching town in Eastern WA.
Anyway how i got the nickname radio rich is because I designed and installed customer car audio systems so every since high school i have been working on car audio and when had my business running full bore my customers just started calling me Radio Rich.
Sincerely Richard
Sincere

Long time lurker checking in.
I've always been interested in reverse engineering and fixing stuff. Electronics is 100% a hobby for me, professionally I went into software development (systems programming, I hate everything web2.0 with a passion). Nevertheless, basic soldering and test equipment plus an ever growing stockpile of parts keeps creeping onto my shelves.
Another big time sink of mine is reading about all sorts of things for the sake of learning and for that end I found this forum a truly invaluable resource.
I'm really impressed by the amount of solid information posted here by people clearly speaking from years of experience.

From Paris. Software developer working on C/C++/Rust/Java (mainly Java). Learning electronics and I'm interested in being able to repair things (I'm not really interested in building stuff through electronics compared to repairing existing stuff).

Hello everyone.
My name is Andreas and I read several topics on the forum during the last four years. Due to the information provided here, I bought a DP832, a SSA 3021X and several other devices. I think EEVblog is the reason why I spent a lot of money.

Hey, joined for the scope giveaway (the sob story video) but thought I might check out the rest of the forum. I'm from Brisbane, electronics hobbyist, unemployed software engineer. I'm a bit stuck on some projects so maybe I can get a little bit of help around here, and maybe there's someone I can help out in return.

Hi everyone!
I'm triagon, and I come from Finland.
I'm a long time lurker of these forums and finally decided to register.
A little bit about me:
I'm currently studying electrical engineering (although I'm just a freshman at the moment)
Between upper secondary and uni I spent a year studying to become an electrician.
I have always loved electricity and tinkering with things, but that year in vocational school really sparked my interest in electricity and electronics.
Last spring I applied to university and got accepted.
It's been a very interesting year so far, and I'm looking forward to learning more.
I'm hoping to learn a lot from experienced people in this forum.
Edit: accidentally submitted my message too early

I'm Steven, and I don't *currently* own an oscilloscope.
...but maybe I'll get lucky and win one.
I've got a background in heavy industry, I'm working toward an industrial electrician apprenticeship. I also have formal university training with a B.S. in Natural Science, pending B.S. in Mathematics, and minors in physics and electro-mechanical engineering. My lab is a work in progress, but it's coming along nicely. I'm most interested in sensing/sensor development, quorum sensing (bacteria / biologics), and applications related to industrial controls, motor design, and power storage.
I'm in my early 30s for another couple of months, enjoy Kentucky Bourbon (Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve) as well as single malt Scotch (Macallan) and occasionally a pint or two of Guinness.
