Hi everyone, I've discovered electronics since I was five and I've never stopped since.
I like all aspects of electronics: from vacumm tubes analog circuits to modern projects with microcontrollers and FPGAs.
In addition to electronics, I am also interested in computer science.
I am currently studying EE, but am evaluating the hypothesis of switching to IT.
I write from Italy and now I am 23 years old.

Hi, Phuzzy here (literally and figuratively
)
I have been interested in electronics for over 20 years now, but have only recently decided to actually get my hand on some proper kit and learn how to work this hobby properly. I have an interest in most things that involves disassembling or assembling things so am hoping to grow my workbench supplies over time.
I have enough skill to solder up a schematic from a datasheet, but don't know enough about anything that has more than 2 leads. I am hoping to change that

Hello everyone! My name is Wendy, and I've worked at Harwin for 23 and a half years - the first nine in our Design Team. I have a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, and a crazy-good memory for all the designs and projects that have passed through my hands here at Harwin. I designed or worked on a fair number of our standard products, and still keep an eye on Design .
These days, I'm the main Technical Support contact - you have a question on Harwin connectors and hardware, I'm the one you'll be talking to in Europe. I'm also responsible for all the technical stuff on our website. Any questions, let me know, I'm always happy to help!
Nice to see another industry rep being helpful of this forum!

hi forum!
António here, from Portugal (Coimbra). Electronics is on my mind since I was 9 (I'm almost 42 now
). Starting with different electronic revues I've learned a lot since child, and then got into electronic repairs and I'm an electrotechnical eng since 1999. I've jumped on several jobs since then, from embedded dev, lab testing, proj management, etc, but always had electronics has hobby - and also repairs, but almost for family/friends/neighbors...
getting into more personal electronics now and also as free lancer, so I'm constantly searching for news and solving problems. I hope I will contribute to this fantastic forum where I've learned a lot for the fez years - thanks to all btw.

Hello. I'm from Somerset In England. I'm a general builder that specialises in natural lime products, fully qualified B.P.C.A. pest controller and an Arborist a.k.a tree surgeon. I like fixing things myself be it an engine, house or electrical products. I have more success fixing things that require large hand held tools :-) I built a strobe light from a kit once and have made a couple of E.M.P generators from following videos on Youtube. You can probably tell I ain't no professional when it comes to electronics. I joined hoping I could get some questions answered. Be gentle if they seem stupid

Hi guys and girls. I have been fiddling with electronics for a while and can fix the obvious stuff and only recently started hitting YouTube to learn how things actually work.
Hope to learn heaps. I do have a few repairs (projects) on the table at the moment and more than likely be asking for a hand getting working again.
Thanks again
Buzzawak.

Seems like a good place for a first post...
Years ago I decided to make a career from computer science and keep electronics as a hobby. It worked out, but sometimes I still wonder if it would have been better to do electrical engineering professionally and programming as a hobby.
Professionally I'm a principle engineer currently doing firmware for network edge routers.
My hobbies tend to rotate daily or at least monthly. In addition to electronics, radio and microcontroller stuff I do everything from construction, plumbing, electrical, mechanics and I've experimented with sewing, crochet and cooking. Currently (as always) I've too many irons in the fire as in addition to a busy time at work I'm starting a repipe of my house (galvanized to pex), repairing my offgrid solar electric system (800w active, 400w out of commission due to storm damage with another 400w waiting until after I assemble and deploy the new 10kwh LiFePO4 battery...) and then it will be time to plan a new ground mount array, covering/patching the woodpecker holes in the house siding before they build nests, planning for a new roof, the wife's car is due for an oil change and mine needs new tires... and the wife and daughter currently have a dozen week old chicks in the laundry room. Oh, and that combined with the spring bulbs blooming in the garden means I need to get the lawnmower ready.
Hello everyone!

I am Returning Tech. I've been out of the field for several years now (approx 7-8 years). Lost my technician job and wasn't able to find another in area. I just started a new job as a repair tech. I've forgotten a lot more than I thought I would have. One of the biggest issue with my new job is the fact that virtually everything I work on, we don't have schematics for. This blog has been a great help. I plan to visit frequently and maybe even help someone else in the future.

Hi,
I'm Sapper aka Rob. Only just found the eevblog video's on youtube and have been watching them from the 1st one (thanks to the all in order playlist) and am getting close to the 300th installment.
I have recently renewed my interest in electronics as a hobby mainly thanks to Dave & Big Clives video's. I have City & Guilds 224 qualifications in electronic test & servicing and was quite actively building projects designed by others. The actual design side isn't really my forte, more fault finding and repair. I drifted away once the family started as I no longer had anywhere to use as the kiddies selfishly occupied the bedroom I was using
I'm looking to join the local hackspace where I can store stuff and will have a locker for the more expensive toys like my budget DSO and soon to be purchased DMM.
Anyways, that's my intro

Hi All.
I'm Tom, from Essex in the UK. I studied electronics and electrical engineering at college and worked as a maintenance engineer for a large injection moulding group for around 10 years. Left the industry to persue a career as a train driver but still like to dabble around with stuff at home and am a long-time viewer of the Eevblog on youtube.
Cheers

Hello from Austria, 👋
I am Christian, 33 years old and i got into electronics a few months back when i got this itching at the back of my head that goes with questions like how does this work or my favorite reason to get into this sort of things is the following: i have no clue what makes (insert interesting subject) work and i do know nothing about it and i should learn about it. So i fetched an Arduino kit, grabbed a book and started experimenting. It took not long till i realized i do not really know the basics. So i took a step back and started studying the basics. And this is the point i am currently at. Learning the basics, understanding the basics and experimenting with various parts and circuits.
I have already learned much from the forum just by reading through various topics and i am glad that i found this forum and the EEV Blog in general.
So happy experimenting
Christian

I am 40 years old i live in Canada 🇨🇦. I started having fun with electronics when i was 11 with an Electronics 130 in 1 kit. I graduated hs in 1997 i went on to college and took Electronics core in 2000 and then industrial Electronics 2nd year of electronics 2001.
I am a musician i play acoustic and electric guitar. I wired my electric guitar on my own and thanks to a wiring diagram from Seymour Duncan.
Currently unemployed/self employed. I still enjoy at least watching Dave demonstrate and vlog electronics though i haven't built any circuits since 2001. (Except my guitar wiring and pickups).

Hi hello, im Nico
30ish, from the netherlands and doing electronics as a hobby. I could try finding a job too, but I prever programming.
And that brings me to the hobbies and intrests, I do alott with embedded systems, compiling kernels and software.
reverseengineering is also something I do for fun. Program preferably in C, C++ and C#, but could do Java, Python and lua too. dont forget the web trio, html, css, javascibt.
If you google CodeAsm you probably find my website, youtube, twitter or various forums where i lurk. Like my favorite gameconsole xbox, msx, or general games research or prototypes. wich is probably the topic where you find my other comments on.
Have a wonderfull day
