I'm not sure who you are quoting, but T'rump has explicitly stated there are ways around the two term limitation.
Yes. The constitution says that nobody may be elected to the office more than twice. Even though I think the intent is clear, it is most unfortunate wording and is obviously (to me) a mistake. Thanks to that mistake, Trump might be able to continue in the office after his "official" term ends.
The fake money was loaned to large corporations which then used it to buy real assets having real value from other countries.
The fracking boom gave them more power than cheap foreign oil ever did, having the reserve currency without being sufficiently protectionist is a slow death for economic power.
China exchanges more goods for paper than any nation on earth ... look at that trade balance. They don't sell ownership of their productive assets for paper, but they'll gladly stockpile dollar and Euro bonds for now rather than consuming their own output.
Indeed, and many countries threatened to dump all these bonds overnight and implode the U.S. economy if they didn't smarten up.

They have not. Naive people just think that's a threat to the US.
You're extremely naive though to think Xi would let China enter trade balance in the near future, unless forced to by tariffs. He wants yet more outsourcing, yet more foreign dependence. He ain't done with neomercantilism by a long shot, though he has refocused on Europe a bit.
.
Trump is quite a businessman isn't he?.
QuoteTrump is quite a businessman isn't he?.Not only a businessman, but a member of a very small, elite group of businessmen, not many have bankrupted there casino

In fact, I heard through many friends in government circles that Canada, the EU and China are dumping large amounts of U.S. bonds verified by countless sources.

Not only are they dumping bonds but tourism, investment and trade have also cratered. Not rocket science, if you piss off and threaten your customers they are going to look elsewhere. I'm a bad customer and if you cross me once I'm done with no second chances. There are just too many other options.
Trump is quite a businessman isn't he?. Hey let's threaten to destroy all our customers and call them stupid then expect them to visit and buy stuff.
QuoteUnlike the US, where tariff policy was made up by "Ron Vara", an imaginary person. (https://youtu.be/MJbZCbBLqkk, scroll to 6:13)
Holy shit!!
<speechless>
QuoteAlso, Trump doesn't have to worry about re-election and any president after Trump can blame everything on Trump for a couple years.Thats what the constitution says, but whens that stopped him

The latests news I see on tariffs doesn't line up with a lot of predictions I saw earlier this year.
The first half of 2025 shows that exports held and imports increased.
GM's street guidance is so good that it has raised Ford's stock too.
India and the US are reportedly near a deal that will provide for 15-16% rates and India pulling back from oil purchases from Russia.
Canada and the US may be near signing an agreement on sectorial tarrif agreements.
I know its shocking, but it is being reported that China's economic growth appears to be stalling and may have trouble on the horizon. Expectations of growth are not being met and many exporting companies are having to cut profits to sell.
President Donald Trump on Friday removed the head of the agency that produces the monthly jobs figures after a report showed hiring slowed in July and was much weaker in May and June than previously reported.

It's debatable, trump fired and replaced many of the government officials posting negative job and growth numbers. So it's pretty obvious the numbers have little credibility. Can you imagine, firing people for doing their job and publishing the facts, it's fubar.

Not to mention the fact the U.S. government has been shut down for a month because they refuse to swear in the duly elected representative Adelita Grijalva. She holds the vote to release the Epstein Files in which trump and many of his friends are named. In fact, Prince Andrew just stepped down and was stripped of his titles knowing full well he is in the soon to be released Epstein files.
In my opinion, most countries are playing the tariff waiting game. When the Epstein files are released trump is finished, the GOP will probably implode and the tariffs eventually removed.
On China, you find it shocking that growth has slowed because the U.S. has gerry rigged the trade system against them with massive tariffs and market manipulation?. It may work short term however everyone knows the U.S. cannot complete with them long term. Case in point, China would obliterate the global EV market if it wasn't for the 100% U.S. tariffs and market manipulation. Fair trade, right

As a businessman I can understand China, they just want to build inexpensive stuff and sell it to everyone.

You're hilarious. That evilCanadaUS 100% tariffs on China EVs.
The US also has 100% tariff on China EVs, the previous administration implemented that.
You might want to look up what "fair trade" means. Just saying.![]()
Most consumers would easily buy a BYD EV, which is superior to Tesla at half the price.

Weird, I also find your responses hilarious.
First, "Canada announced its tariff in August 2024, noting that it was “following the lead of the U.S. and European Union”
"The U.S. had already moved to impose similar restrictive measures on Chinese EVs, and by aligning, Canada arguably sought to present a united front with major Western trading partners. This alignment helps Canada avoid being singled out, and may bolster its negotiating
leverage."
However, since the U.S. has thrown Canada and it's allies under the bus there is a very good chance all the EV tariffs in Canada could be lifted soon. Which of course would obliterate all U.S. EV sales. Most consumers would easily buy a BYD EV, which is superior to Tesla at half the price.
Not rocket science and as the Canadian PM Mark Carney said about protecting the U.S markets "Those days are over".

Most consumers would easily buy a BYD EV, which is superior to Tesla at half the price.
Check the prices in say Mexico, not China. Canadians might do it out of spite, but I'd wait a little till other spitefuls put a couple 10s of thousands on the road first.

BYD could open car factoriers in Canada, Mexico, even the US. They build busses in the US and Canada today.
But they have said they are backing out of the Canadian market.
But really? EVs are like a very very small number of autos built and purchased. By far the highest demand is on Hybrids and that's likely to remain true for a good while unfortunately.
Is it that common for governments to advertise in another country outside of tourism?
Did the creators and authors really think that the misrepresentation would be taken well and it would somehow have a positive outcome?
That appears to have triggered the president to cancel trade negotiations with Canada.
Pretty wild. Ontario CA took out an Ad in the US that misrepresents a speech by Ronald Reagan. That appears to have triggered the president to cancel trade negotiations with Canada.
The optics here are surreal. Is it that common for governments to advertise in another country outside of tourism? To me, it isn't dissimilar to nation states misinformation campaigns online but they try to hide the source of those.

Trump and his administration seem to think it works for them. See, for instance, the 'war' in Democrat states where the videos of the riots are actually from somewhere else or many years ago. What's sauce for the goose, etc.
QuoteThat appears to have triggered the president to cancel trade negotiations with Canada.
Yep, the response should have been expected. Trump has such a thin skin that some kind of retaliation would be in the works. Even though he disses other countries and then expects them to engage meaningfully in negotiations, one can't expect the same from him.
And... Regan did actually say all that stuff, just not in that order. But it's like I've just quoted you out of order - are you going to threaten copyright or worse on me for that? Did I affect the tenor of your post?
