Facts are for losers.
This morning, Punchbowl News reported that Amazon was considering listing the cost of tariffs as a separate line item on its site, citing "a person familiar with the plan." Amazon later acknowledged that there had been internal discussions to that effect but only for its import-focused Amazon Haul sub-store and that the company didn't plan to actually list tariff prices for any items.
"This was never approved and is not going to happen," reads Amazon's two-sentence statement.
Amazon issued such a specific and forceful on-the-record denial in part because it had drawn the ire of the Trump administration. In a press briefing early this morning, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked a question about the report, which the administration responded to as though Amazon had made a formal announcement about the policy.
"This is a hostile and political act by Amazon," Leavitt said, before blaming the Biden administration for high inflation and claiming that Amazon had "partnered with a Chinese propaganda arm."
Trump admin lashes out as Amazon considers displaying tariff costs on its sites:

This sh1t-fight makes me laugh. If Amazon were to tell their customers how much each item attracts in tariffs, they would be indirectly disclosing Amazon's purchase price and their profit margin. Of course it's not going to happen.
When I buy components that attract tariffs, DigiKey shows the tariff rate for each component on their invoice. This gives me no clue whatsoever about DigiKey’s profit margin.
What am I missing?
What am I missing?
Information.
Sale price = import price+ (import price * tariff%) + profit.
you only know sale price and tariff %, leaving two unknowns.

AIUI, Amazon was proposing to "list tariff prices". To me, tariff price = import price * tariff%. Ergo, if you know the tariff price and tariff %, then you know the import price.

Was the goal to harm US allies?

As far as I'm concerned the only Trump's ally is Russia and perhaps Belarus.
Did anyone answer the question about Digikey and Mouser, if someone like myself in New Zealand is ordering from Digikey or Mouser, do I end up paying a tariff for someone to ship parts into a warehouse in the US, then export it again?
Same with Amazon, when I purchase from Amazon (US site) they show me how much New Zealand GST I will pay, so will I see the US import tariff or even know if there is one?
Will I even pay a tariff if the items are sourced from outside the United States?
They need keep plenty to support their local EV production which when we were there last August 50% of the cars we saw in Shenzhen were EV, easily identified by their green number plates whereas every ICE car had a blue plate.
It seemed 1 in 10 was a Telsa too !

Tesla is really big in China, it has luxury appeal in the same way Mercedes/BMW have in the ICE car space. They also have a good supercharging network. But, they will lose that eventually to the homegrown competitors who are coming out with some very good products now. Elon's political shenanigans will no doubt reduce demand in China too and Model S/X are still made in USA so will be subject to Chinese import tariffs.
Looking at the stock markets on trading economics, I notice that most of the time, the YTD value of stocks has fallen for traditional US allies like Japan, Australia and New Zealand, while Shanghai does not seem to be heavily affected and Hong Kong is up.
Was chatting with an investment advisor yesterday and they said that some of the large (international) funds they dealt with were busy moving holdings across to China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam from the US.

That means they are afraid of their assets being frozen. Correct assumption?
If the assumption above is correct, why are they afraid of their assets being frozen?
Lavrov said it best, let me quote him...
