Got it. I’m going for a walk as well. Currently 205m ASL getting the shit beaten out of me. It’s 3 degrees and I’m walking in the clouds and wind is 50mph+. Reminds you how alive you are.
Good 4g up here but nowhere to poop lol.
Not that I have tried it but the old addage of man who pee into wind ..... may apply to the other in 50MPH
Yeah screw that
... has to abandon ship (not shit) as weather got worse and I wasn’t kitted out for it today. On way home. Boo hiss.
Good 4g up here but nowhere to poop lol.
5G will solve this problem!
The whole Deadpool comics and movies are soooo wrong on sooooo many levels.
I just can't stop reading and watching.
It's kind of watching a train wreck type of thing....
Yup. It's like a whole 2 hours of
Robot Chicken. Ryan Reynolds certainly has found his calling.

While I AM known to proselytize the virtues of the
"pants-free day" at the drop of a hat... ANY hat... I will be the first to remind you that they ARE something you need to plan ahead first...

Still, better to go
"pants-free" than to wear your
"give up on life pants" out in public.

I read that much earlier when I needed to poop and there was nearly an accident from the sniggering

Pants free FTW. When I was a kid they had to hold me down to put pants on.
Anyway back home now. Money shot. This was worth the drive. More photos later. I have only cleaned this bit so far:
1989 is latest date code which is again, right at the end of the run for these supplies which is massively good
Missing 3 HP knob caps though and those are buggers to find
Don't ya just love the gold plated traces on HP gear? That's is real PORN, a thing of beauty and
mot not a hint of poop anyway
Indeed.
No comment about the poop

Not just the traces - even the component designations. Total porn.
Found a bloody RIFA hiding behind the transformer. Eviction in progress.
Supply works
Haven't cleaned that yet. Doing next.
Needs three HP knob caps
It's only the insert bits so not a problem really. I'm just major OCD (hence all the cleaning going on)
All the same it would have been nice to have seen a before and after shot of the various parts.
It is in remarkable good shape really because the brackets on the transformer and other metalwork are really nice and bright and I doubt that you have gotten a wire wheel in there to give them a shine like that even with your OCD
Electronics is just a hobby for me. (I am a lawyer by profession.)
Last week I won a big trial. I haven't even sent out the invoice for that case, let alone been paid, when this happened.
Do I need help?
No I don't think you need any help at all, you're doing just fine without any additional help

TEA fruits of the spoils.
You mentioned a SDG2042X arriving soon too.

Wasn't the point of becoming a lawyer that you get to send an invoice regardless of who wins? The house always wins.
That being said, nice kit. I really think R&S hit it on the head with that one.

That's what I wanted to say. Transformers and brackets tend to tarnish, but this one is clean as anything.
Ok insides and top cleaned. Sides and front panel to do. Insides were pretty nasty before cleaning. Some more HP pr0n:
Mmmmm... I love high-density FR4... especially backlit. That's art right there.
3 outputs, linear, analog... 6236A/B?

Yup, I seem to remember you did a backlit shot of another PSU about a year ago, they do look nice backlit though

As technically an IT contractor, that's how it rolls here too (then I have to hire one of you guys to get paid so you can buy a scope
). Enjoy and nice purchase

Yeah that was the iffy one. Purely accidental bench shot that but they look pretty good like that.
Edit: found it!

It's definitely pretty clean. Was just dusty. Found some solder splodges inside it and on the front panel and a couple of burns on the terminals but nothing too serious. Last owner wasn't the most careful by the looks though and tried to remove a label with something sharp, scratching the panel up a bit.
Anyway, front panel done (minus those missing caps!).
Before, literally when picked up:
After:
Will do calibration tomorrow as I'm about to pass out in front of Thor.
Edit - couple of ones I did before.
6237B:
6206B (this one was rotten inside):
Well you certainly polished that up nicely, I bet its still in calibration too.
