Re photo resizing, I use the android app 'photo and picture resizer' some pita adds but otherwise I like it.

Just done museum of computing. Skipping Bletchley park today as it’s hot and rammed with idiots today. Will go on a cold week day some time later in the year!
Doing a few mods to the ADMS301 Microscope. I want to make a "ring" on my 3D printer to extend the base a bit around the outside. I find it a little small - maybe 2 or 3 mm extension. The ring will have it's own feet so it matches the height. Hmm what color? Oh yea black.

Also, the power connector in the back for the two LED lights needs to be changed to a right-angle type. Sticks out a little too far and could get knocked and broken.

I'm not going to bother to go to Bletchley Park again. OTOH I go to TNMoC repeatedly.

Yes that was excellent. It was pretty dead today so i got a 1:1 tour of colossus and WITCH and had a natter about the microcoding of the WITCH. Also lots of HP calculators and slide rules. Their A310’s power supply was duff though
![Sad :(](https://www.eevblog.com/forum/Smileys/default/xsad.gif.pagespeed.ic.L3FGyzQrjB.png)
. Will upload photos later. Need to dash food shopping first.
Edit: also dekatron glory.
Ok all done. I resisted an 8840 DMM, 8640b signal generator, a pile of 54602s that needed repair and a tek 7623. Oh and two old Fluke 8020s which were battered.
Did buy a couple of books, a hoard of new (!) ceramic variable capacitors, a nice broadcast cap from alps, crystal socket by Millen, a couple of GDOs with coils, some panel meters and a nice little regen receiver though.
Nice haul. ![ThumbsUp :-+](https://www.eevblog.com/forum/Smileys/default/icon_smile_thumbsup.gif.pagespeed.ce._JElyJQqdB.gif)
Ditto.

I remember the sardine can radio on that front cover!!! ( Suddenly feeling very old for some reason...
![Wink ;)](https://www.eevblog.com/forum/Smileys/default/xwink.gif.pagespeed.ic.cldandycH0.png)
) And I'm a little jelly on the GDOs... especially since knowing you, it all followed you home after you "dropped" a 20 quid note...

Ah yes the Tuna Tin QRP transmitters etc. They still sell 'em:
http://qrpme.com/?p=TUNASHome now and inspection took place.
The Howes radio appears not to pick up a damn thing (typical). Looks like the front end FET is borked. Probably connected it to an antenna with some static on it. I will repair that tomorrow. It's a BF245 which I have a few lying around. There's no online manual for it but if you send GQRP club a picture of the rig they will send you a copy of the manual. Also pots a bit scratchy and it has a PL259 on it (die!)
GDO mark one. Works but there's a dead spot in the tuning range. Looks mechanical. I will debug this tomorrow. There was an exploded 9v battery in it but no lasting damage.
GDO mark two is in pretty good condition. Also an exploded 9v battery in it but no lasting damage other than the battery clip being nuked. And I don't have any of them left now so fixing that will have to wait a couple of days
![Sad :(](https://www.eevblog.com/forum/Smileys/default/xsad.gif.pagespeed.ic.L3FGyzQrjB.png)
... this one has no dead tuning range and is bang on the scale and frequency stable as I can tune it on my radio with a 200hz filter and it doesn't change tone

Edit: Yoda grade English fix.
I notice you're keeping mum on the fiduciary aspect.

We'll just have to wait for the big reveal later, won't we?

Lol. £35 the lot. About £120 return on the stuff that’s going on eBay. That pays for the fuel and the trip to the computer museum and the bits I’m keeping (caps and meters)

No good on an iPhone though.

For everybody that think that Canada is a dark cold place, this is where I spent the last 2 weeks.

Cool!
Hope the process of getting a visa or residency is not too complex.
We have a place; visas and immigration are "in process" and should be finalized long before the 6 month visitor's visas are up.
Weez gotz lawyerzz on it. 🤣

Hope you are going to like Toronto. I heard good things about it.
Well I found out why that receiver didn’t work. Crappy toroid winding. One of the pads isn’t soldered underneath

. Basically the antenna side isn’t connected at all ffs

U-Haul convoy ?
Gonna get the largest truck they have. Put the beds, TVs & toolboxes in first; then whatever else will fit. Anything that doesn't fit gets left behind.

No, wait... wife says the children are not optional, so taking them too.
How plans change. Not going to NYC tomorrow. May not go at all this week. Not my doing and that's all I'm going to say about it.

I guess tomorrow I'll aggravate myself some more and work on the 485. Fix it or bust.
