Is anyone familiar with select-test.com? They have a couple of bench multimeters listed on fleabay that would fit in my needs category.
They look rough cosmetically, so I expect a low ball offer would be in order. Supposedly they are working. Part of the interest is that I could almost go in person, rather than getting them shipped.
Any advice/coaching as I embark on used TEA? My past acquisitions have been from very reliable sources, so this is new territory for me.

I need to move somewhat quickly. SWMBO's brother is getting rid of an above-ground pool to get a spa instead. We are getting the pool for free, but budgets are going to tighten up once SWMBO realizes installation is going to cost in the $1000CAD ballpark. It is certainly not free considering the sweat I put in to disassemble it and load it into a trailer...
That 3478A would def be high on my list; mine is a joy to use and that one comes with GPIB and 30-day warranty. Yeah, it's a bit ugly... but nothing a little TLC and some printed plastic wouldn't make right nice in half a jiffy.
Don't forget to hunt up some decent UNSHROUDED 4mm plug test leads; those are a bit on the scarce side anymore.
[EDIT] You might want to look into this [FLUKE] 45 they have if it'll serve your needs; a bit newer, VFD looks half-decent, dual-display and RS-232: eBay auction: #202983024562mnem
first offer for all local TEA folks: I have a Shadow pinball (Bally), WPC S, that I would part with... https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2528
Mmmhmmm.... that's tasty. Fortunately for me and my bankbook, there's no way in Hell I could get it here without mortgaging the children. Tho if it were a Black Knight or a Mata Hari... *shuddder*

"Their wives."
Yeah, Mata Hari and Lost World. Saturday night with strained arms ... sigh, I'm starting to reminisce If only I had the space!
Word. Drink til you get wobbly... prop yourself up on the bodyball table and play until you're sober again... *sigh*

A wasted youth is better by far... than a wise and productive old age...!"
Apologies as not quite TEA but close, sort of like an ac dc current limited variable ~80V 200A power supply, my new TIG welder.
So many settings to get right, current, ac balance, frequency, electrode/cup size, gas flow-pre-during-post , and if you touch the filler rod to the tungsten - then you have to take it out and grind it again. (actually put in one of the other 9 you ground earlier!) My first butt joint after about 10 trial runs - not pretty but I am getting better (not saying much)
I think I am going to have to do it seated - I wobble too much standing.
Two things... One, DON'T learn while sitting, and keep running the torch without the foot-pedal until you're reasonably proficient. Seated and pedal is for production work under ideal conditions; you want to learn your technique (especially coordinating the torch motion and the stirring of the filler) under real world conditions so you'll always feel confident when you need to weld a part onto something you can't move to an ideal position.
Trust me... you'll be a much better welder much faster learning this way.
Also, when prepping the work, remember to vee your joints deeper & wider with tig; you don't get the penetration you do with ferrous metals and stick, so the extra room for the stirring action will help you greatly.
Good luck!

"Let's light this candle...!"
The TEA in tomorrow's Ramco auction already has some interesting bid prices...
A Fluke 85 multimeter for £85+uplift
Several used Isotech 100MHz scopes for £55+uplift
I wonder where they will end up?!
Quite a few Racal Dana 1998 counters around £30, HP34401 ("Archived") for £150. And shitloads of crap.
Guess I should be happy we don't have something like that in Germany. At least I'm not aware of it.
I think that's the one Homer Simpson used to work at... Here's one for all you butt-uglee FLUKE fans; OCXO, dual-channel, w/500MHz option:

The Flukes get Krylon Fusion Satin Rolling Surf.
The Teks get Krylon Colormaxx Gloss Bahama Sea.
Nothing special. Regular spray paint but it does specify it's for plastic as well as metal.

How soon they forget. Already have one. And painted.
Didn't forget. I thought yours was the plain-Jane 125MHz model; not with the 500MHz option.
Med, you want to upgrade your HeathKit oscilloscope calibrator ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/114244159119?ViewI
