And why does Google insist on showing mostly printer parts or computer stuff everytime I search for HP TE.
David
Because they re-used all the friggin' numbers for the computer crap, too. I find that very annoying, too. Putting the letter suffix on the search term tends to help at least somewhat. I'm sure I miss plenty of wrongly-categorized gear on the 'bay by limiting searches to 'business and industrial' in order to cut down on the noise. I've seen dopes put test gear in 'consumer' and 'antique and collectible'. HP also returns a lot of electric motors, and engine parts, too.

Well, my fellow tea party compatriots, i fear i have suffered a relapse. Six months and 200 pages went by but finally i have been lured by temptation once more, god help me. A tested and warranted Fluke 8200 popped up on evil bay and, running the risk of being burned at the stake, i bought it.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FLUKE-8200A-Used-Cleaned-Tested-2-year-warranty/392092406525It is so hard to say no to buying stuff when you literally have spare parts just lying around, worst bit is it
WILL detract from the hamfest fund this year but hey, at least this way i guarantee the money doesn't just go into miscellaneous junk. The 11 bucks tax was killer though
Oh well, i at least now have most of my dragons rounded up and as such have negated the need to chase them. Random crap from hamfests, i'm coming for ya!
Welcome back, neo! Nice Nixie meter. Looking forward to your hamfest finds.
Hey neo - I'm doing a high voltage PCB creepage test for work and had to set up a bell jar and vacuum pump on my bench today, and in the process of excavating came across the patient and long suffering HP 5340A counter that I still haven't touched, and it made me realize that I haven't seen hide nor hair of you here for a long time. Funny that you'd reappear tonight.
Welcome back - glad to see you've fallen off the wagon and rejoined our little band of loonies.
Congrats on snagging the 8200!

freq counters have always been my primary addiction.......but you sure have tempted me to become a volt nut too.
73 and gud luck in the contest om
a question for the brits.
ok....swmbo makes a pretty good bubble and squeak.
and although it seems odd, you guys have convinced me that there is nothing basically wrong with beans on toast.
but "mushy peas"? wtf?
Beans on toast is great. Do two slices of bread. First slice stick beans on it. Second slice stick a fried egg on it. Blob of HP sauce on the side for the egg white. Serve with crap instant coffee or tea. Sorted.
Mushy peas are great too. You just have to eat them with the right food. Usually fish and chips or a meat pie.
neo: congratulations on your relapse.

Watch out for falling trees. You going for anything from that Fluke list? I'm looking at 8840A to make a complete one with mine.
I’m building them not putting them up fortunately
No will skip this lot. Got too many other things on!

I thought about it cos the shipping and duty to be paid but if I can get a good display and AC option out of it, it'll triple the value of mine I'm thinking [emoji848]

M&S (an upmarket food/clothes chain) sells pre-prepared cook-chill bubble and squeak - which is the best example of "missing the point" that I have ever come across.
but "mushy peas"? wtf?
Normally I'd agree, but there's local company that makes them more than palatable: "MOTHERSHIP / 9.50 A NY CLASSIC PIE, MASH, MINTY MUSHY PEAS , CHEDDAR & CRISPY SHALLOTS"
https://www.pieminister.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Summer-menu-2018-mk3-no-scoop.pdfNote the key points: very good pies, and lots of mint in the mushy peas.
M&S is for the lazy and stupid I find. More packaging and marketing wrapping up a portion of disappointment.
Pie Minister is awesome. Went in there in Brixton a few months back.
Decided to take a jaunt out on the bus quick after all this talk of food. Sitting in spoons at the moment with the kids. Cheap and not terrible. Especially when you’re dosed up on codeine

Well i aint much of a volt nut either, more a multimeter nut.... or perhaps more accurately a nixie tube nut.
Theres nothing quite like building a proper stack, turning them all on and just bathing in the
glow.
LOL! Really need some sense disambiguation there, xrunner.
More rain in Seattle than here in U.K. Toronto looks nice. Always wanted to go there.
There's a reason it's so green in the Seatac area. They also have a cool aviation museum near Boeing.
Toronto is also very nice. Lots of green suburbs with tree-lined streets.
As far as locations go all i can say it may be a small dream of mine to live in Wyoming. Personally I've never been, except for one time when i was too young to remember, but if you would listen to my father it is a slice of heaven on earth.
12.5% genuine native American.
Well I've pretty much decided that my 465 is now a parts mule. And I've been scanning Evil Bay. Found some possible contenders and made an offer on one. It has some physical damage but I can swap over parts from mine. We'll see what happens. I'll report if it goes through.

I tried my best to avoid mentioning car parts, the most annoying type of listings, sellers seem to list the exact same part 50 (or more times) for each model it fits.
Also hold peak seem to spam HP in their model numbers, but that's easy enough to sort out.
Ebay.com has the added bonus of about 4 times the amount of stuff under 'Business and Industrial' than Ebay.uk too, so I tend to limit my searches to 'Test, Measurement & Inspection' & 'Electrical Equipment & Supplies' as it takes too long otherwise. I do sometimes look at the other two catagories you mentioned ('consumer' and 'antique and collectible') but only in the UK.
I don't seem to find any bargains in the wrong categories these days though, best I had was this HP (Hernia Producer) digital recorder/clock combo listed under antiques a few years back in Austria.

I guess last night the film came true then eh, "Sleepless in Seattle", I reckon there was a whole lot people having trouble getting to sleep last night. Thank goodness he never crashed into a heavily populated area.
LOL... I guess I can laugh now, right?
Yeah; if you listen to the video, you can see he's not a angry guy, not a terrorist... he's just had enough and this was how he wanted to go out. Said something about "Uhh... yeah. Minimum Wage... pass that on to the higher-ups...." There's a spot where traffic control explained they were just trying to keep him out of the path of landing aircraft, and he was all like " Oh, yeah right... I wanna stay all away from all that. Thanks..." Pretty sure his crash into that island in Puget Sound was at least semi-deliberate to not be in a heavily populated area.
The aircraft only had a few thousand lbs of fuel, so no way it could've been in the air more than a few minutes; I'm sure it was all over before most people in the area knew there was even something going on. But when those National Guard jets scrambled, I'm sure the sonic boom rattled a few windows...

*Scratches that one off my bucket list*
More rain in Seattle than here in U.K. Toronto looks nice. Always wanted to go there.
Summers are (used to be) better in Seattle than the UK (I moved here from London in 1986). This year might be an exception. But we don't ever admit to that... it is of course, raining as I speak (really - might get a thunderstorm or two later today). Back into the 80s for next week though.
There are too many people here now. The geography is such that there are few major arterial roads so traffic sucks. Public transport is inadequate. No, not a good place to relocate to right now.
