Many a true word spoken in jest, remember all of those Teks that were going to the grave with him, the last of which was the TDS210, which I still have mine (the only Tek I have ever owned) and was the first true scope I had with some form of cursors and measurement, which I love
J/K....nice!
The first "scope" with cursors I got was the "toy one", the DSO138 in acrylic case no less. It is a very basic no frills, battery operated pocket scope which is quite useful for audio work and built from a kit.

Bean.....I really appreciate you making me aware of that calibrator and I seriously considered going after it but finally decided to let it go. That 760A is freaking HUGE. It's the size of a standard pallet. Plus it must weigh a ton. Frankly I have no room for it and if it's as heavy as I think I'll never get up a flight of stairs. And I really suspect the hands of multiple gorilla's have been in there.
I'm sure something more suitable will come along.

To be honest: the first thing I'd do is to get rid off this stupid comma and replace the point with a comma (if possible). Confuses me all the time.

To be fair, they seem to have learned the lesson (this time)
Looks like they stuck the DG8 and DG9 hardware in a different box and increased the price a fair bit.
Of course, no guarantee someone won't get clever with "design" next time.
First thing I'd do is take those hideous bumpers off and burn them. Then put some nermal feet on the bottom. Fuckwits.
New toy arrived. Haven't had any time to do anything useful yet with it but I plugged it in while I was on a conference call ...Responsiveness much better. FFT much better. User interface about the same. Much much quieter than the DS1054Z. No complaints so far.
Y'all are REALLY making me regret letting that $188 XDS3202E from Arrow's Lilliput Blowout slip through my fingers...

Tektronix, you disappoint me. You went cheap in later years. I don't know how many times I struggled to get the best compromise when performing compensation adjustments of the 400 series because you insisted on having one set of adjustments cover 2 volts/div ranges. And you did the same on 7000 series plug-ins too. But not so this 1A2 plug-in. INDIVIDUAL compensation adjustments for each volts/div. It made performing the compensation a joy. No flipping back and forth and fiddling to get the best waveform. This one was simple, straight forward, and accurate.
Both channels fell into place on all ranges with minimum fuss. And the 535A is back on it's feet.

I agree, the price is right. Yea.....a little lacking in accuracy. But the size....that's the killer. Even compared to a truck it's huge.

Gets a bit fugly around 20MHz. Not overly bothered as I only need very low amplitude sines after about 3MHz and only up to around 71MHz.
